Conservation fine-art photographer receives the festival’s highest honor following a remarkable year of professional achievements.

OCALA, FLORIDA | October 29, 2026

Marion County-based conservation fine-art photographer Zsuzsanna Luciano, M.Photog., received Best in Show at the 59th Annual Ocala Arts Festival, held October 24–25, 2026, in downtown Ocala, Florida.

The prestigious award recognizes outstanding artistic achievement across all participating art categories, making it an especially meaningful honor for Luciano, whose photography celebrates the beauty, complexity, and fragility of the natural world.

A Remarkable Year of Artistic Recognition

The Best in Show award marks another significant milestone in an extraordinary year for Luciano.

In January 2026, she received her Master of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) during Imaging USA in Nashville, Tennessee.

Throughout the summer, she continued exhibiting her work at prestigious fine-art festivals across the Midwest, receiving six Outstanding Achievement in Photography awards.

Her October Best in Show recognition in Ocala brings these achievements full circle, this time in the Florida community she now calls home.

Photography Inspired by Nature

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Luciano has spent years exploring and photographing some of the most remarkable natural landscapes across the United States.

Her subjects range from ancient trees and dramatic mountain landscapes to the Milky Way, wild horses, and the extraordinary underwater world of Florida’s freshwater springs.

Her photography is rooted in a deep appreciation for conservation and the belief that art can inspire people to recognize and protect the natural beauty surrounding them.

Rather than simply documenting a landscape, Luciano seeks to capture its atmosphere, emotion, and sense of wonder.

The Art Behind the Photograph

Luciano’s work often involves sophisticated photographic techniques, including multi-row panoramic compositions created by carefully combining dozens of individual exposures.

Some of her large-scale photographs incorporate 50 to 100 or more images, meticulously assembled to produce extraordinary detail and resolution.

Her finished photographs are presented as large-format fine-art prints on aluminum, allowing viewers to experience the depth, color, and intricate details of each scene.

For Luciano, the camera is only one part of the creative process. Patience, preparation, artistic vision, technical knowledge, and a deep connection with nature are equally essential.

A Meaningful Recognition in Her Florida Community

Since relocating to Florida, Luciano has developed a particularly strong connection with the state’s freshwater springs, wildlife, and natural landscapes.

Her work is represented at Rainbow Springs Art Gallery in Dunnellon, where she also shares her knowledge and passion for photography.

Receiving Best in Show at the Ocala Arts Festival is especially meaningful because it comes from the community and natural environment that continue to inspire her work.

The award represents not only artistic achievement but also the opportunity to bring greater attention to the importance of preserving Florida’s natural treasures.

Looking Ahead

Luciano continues to explore new photographic projects focused on wildlife, natural landscapes, and conservation.

Through her photography, she hopes to encourage others to slow down, look more closely, and discover the extraordinary beauty that exists in the natural world.
